Insights From Our Experts
Society has a skewed view of failure.
And it’s no wonder. In school, failure is treated as a sign of ignorance.
In the real world, however, failure is a sign of progress.
In fact, successful people like John Maxwell state that failure isn’t the opposite of success, it’s the road to it.
To achieve anything significant in life you have to be willing to take risks … and you have to expect to fail a time or two (or twenty).
What matters is how you respond to failure.
As long as you’re willing to learn from your mistakes, you’re moving forward – failing forward.
I recently read some encouraging success rates of famous artists:
• Beyonce has recorded 89 songs but only 22 are top singles (24%)
• Red Hot Chili Peppers have recorded 265 songs with only 13 top singles (4.9%)
• Drake has recorded 133 songs with 38 top singles (28%)
That means over 70% of their music is not popular.
Why is that?
Maybe only a small portion of the audience resonated with the message.
Maybe they released a song in the winter that would have been the perfect summer jam.
It’s not because they aren’t talented artists.
Despite the fact that 70% of their songs are not popular, these artists keep recording, keep getting their message out there to the world and keep pursuing those hits.
What if you are that brave with your marketing?
Just because a marketing tactic didn’t work the first time doesn’t mean it won’t work in the future.
Sometimes it’s timing, sometimes the message needs to be tweaked.
Sometimes you need a partner like Liger who has been there and done that to elevate your strategy.
